General  Responsibilities

Responsible for the comprehensive product portfolio development, commercialization, and management for snow and ice control work truck products targeted to the municipal governmental market that include townships, cities, counties and state DOT customers. This position is tasked with the execution of the overall market and product marketing strategies established for all of Henderson Products.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy development for the snow and ice control work truck management products and services.
  • Execute strategic initiatives to optimize operating income dollars
  • Successfully drive organic growth.
  • Identify, prepare and execute plans to grow business.
  • Track results of all programs and recommend strategies for growth.
  • Manage product roadmap and develop business cases for new product initiatives.
  • Develop applications for new products and revisions for existing products
  • Lead new product implementation projects.
  • Work with innovations to execute roadmap and meet functional requirements.
  • Ensure product offerings maintain a leading edge in the industry.
  • Ensure product offerings have competitive advantages and serve marketplace needs; develop long range competitive product strategies.
  • Drive product development by defining feature requirements based on market needs and product and corporate strategies.
  • Chair and lead brand product planning efforts.
  • Analyze market and industry trends for both existing and potential new markets.
  • Direct and conduct detailed industry and company research as appropriate.
  • Maintain database on competitive intelligence, provide periodic main competitors analysis.
  • Measure voice-of-the-customer, customer retention and attrition, providing periodic analysis on topics.
  • Establish pricing and channel strategy for products.
  • Develop and execute product/sales support materials, and conduct periodic sales training sessions.
  • Partner with internal and external resources to deliver sales tools for products.
  • Organize customer events and participate in selected trade shows with advertising and sales.
  • Manage content of print and web-based sales support materials.
  • Manage tasks within established expense budgets.
  • Interact across the business, its various levels and functional groups to ensure successful project coordination.

  • Technical ability to work closely with Innovations and effectively communicate product features, advantages and benefits to Sales organization, Advertising and prospective customers.
  • Strong information technology and computer skills. Internet skills and understanding a must.

  • Data-driven and structured mindset. Business sense and emotional commitment to defend the best interests of the products and brands involved. Market research experience.

Financial skills to assess and to drive profitability. Demonstrated creativity and flexibility.

Qualifications

  • BA in Engineering, Marketing, or Business Administration; 5-10 years traditional multi-functional marketing, brand segment marketing management experience.
  • 3-5 years direct experience in truck equipment industry preferred

Working Conditions

  • Office, but extreme weather conditions could exist during photo shoots and VOC events.. The position would have up to three direct Product Management reports as well as Market Analyst and Administrative Assistant roles within the department. This position works closely with the sales, customer support, technical services, finance, credit, manufacturing and innovations organizations.
  • Generally relatively light, but extensive travel required and extreme weather conditions could exist during photo shoots and VOC events.. This position requires domestic travel from 35% and occasional international travel less than 5%. This position works closely with the sales, customer support, technical services, finance, credit, manufacturing and innovations organizations.
