Job Description

Forever Cabinets, a division of Kendrick, Inc., is looking for a self-motivated, skilled, hardworking Craftsman / Cabinet Maker to join their custom cabinet manufacturing team in Edgewood, IA. Ideally, we are looking for a woodworker with experience in a production cabinet or furniture shop environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in the specialty department, constructing the non-standard cabinets and furniture
  • Interpret & read shop drawings and blueprints
  • Follow work plans
  • Assist in other areas of the shop as needed
  • Use of various millwork machinery including table saws, bandsaw, shaper, timesaver & routers.
  • Work closely with supervisors to expedite work flow
  • Meet schedule deadlines
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Knowledge and experience in woodworking equipment and processes
  • Experience with power tool operation (chop saw, table saw, sanders, drills etc.)
  • Willingness to learn and complete tasks correctly
  • Ability to listen and take direction to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Basic knowledge of calculations and measurements
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and complete jobs with demanding deadlines while keeping great attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must have pride in work completed
  • Highly motivated and high level of initiative; confidence to work independently and with a team, in support of project goals and objectives
  • Work well individually and as a member of a team
  • Communicate with other departments clearly about project status when elements are completed/passed into the next department


Job Qualifications

  • Preferred 2 years’ experience in custom cabinetry and or furniture building
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Willingness to learn and complete tasks correctly
  • Must have pride in work completed
  • Drug free
  • Clean criminal background
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Work 40-50 hours a week.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Strong record of reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail
  • Resourceful go-getter attitude with desire for career advancement and increased responsibility
  • Knowledge of various wood species and characteristics.


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive. Based on experience.
