The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for employee and labor relations, staffing, performance management, training and development, and administration of HR policies, procedures and processes in partnership with Corporate HR and Plant leadership.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to interact within all levels of the organization to promote strategic alignment with Company policies, goals and objectives.

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for plant personnel.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Partners with plant and Corporate HR Leadership to rewrite job descriptions as necessary; partner with Corporate
  • Compensation to obtain benchmark data for new roles/positions.
  • Responsible for maintaining employee information in the company’s HRIS. Maintains local organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Manages the performance review and hourly merit process for the plant.
  • Develops, recommends and implements local HR guidelines procedures with approval from Corporate HR and Plant Leadership. Roll out of HR Corporate guidelines to employees at plant location.
  • Partners with HR Corporate to support and review affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • In Partnership with Corporate Staffing Department, coordinates recruitment effort for all nonexempt and temporary workers within the plant location; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts new-employee orientations amd conducts exit interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as required.
  • Responsible for conducting confidential investigations regarding employee relations concerns, complaints. Seeks guidance as needed from Corporate Human Resources on risks, resolution and actions.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws. Demonstrates prudent judgment when making important decisions by utilizing knowledge of industry best practices and current trends. Works with diverse stakeholders and builds strong, collaborative relationships. Manages competing agendas and priorities across different functional departments.
  • Has a “can do” attitude and a positive outlook, while minimizing negative behaviors. Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness as a self-starter.
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning and actions necessary to ensure proper staffing levels.



The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR is preferred.
  • 5+ years previous experience in human resource management, employee relations, performance management, worker’s compensation, FMLA, employment law, planning and project management; 1-2 years experience in a leadership position.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing plant is required.

  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment guidelines is required.
  • Strong computer skills including Windows-based programs such as Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook is required.

  • Capable of serving as an effective advocate of employee interests.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or maintaining a positive workplace culture.
