We’re delighted to know you’re interested in learning more about Maquoketa Valley School District. Maquoketa Valley is a district of approximately 720 students in grades Pre-School through twelve with an excellent student/teacher ratio of approximately 13 to 1. When we include our teacher associates who help our teachers with the instructional process, the student/teacher ratio drops lower to 11 to 1.
Our quality teaching staff works hard to ensure that our students achieve as close to their potential as possible. We’re not only proud of our academic achievements, but our broad array of co-curricular activities as well. Our music, speech and drama activities are outstanding and our assorted athletic teams boast numerous conference championships as well as state tournament participation.
In addition to quality academic and co-curricular programs, Maquoketa Valley is proud of its modern facilities. We serve pre-school-K at the Earlville center, 1st-2nd grade is served at Johnston Elementary in Hopkinton and 3rd-12th grade is served in Delhi. A new weight-room, offices and entrance at the High School was constructed several years ago. We have also updated our softball, baseball, and little league complex through a partnership with the city of Delhi, MV Athletic boosters, and Delhi Little League.
Maquoketa Valley has been on the cutting edge of technology for over ten years. Our patrons have approved and renewed an Instructional Support Program, which has resulted in state or the art computer technology in all of our buildings. We now have approximately one computer for every four students and a staff that is being continually trained as to how to best use this new technology in their classrooms.
