In 1950, Xavier School was changed to St. Mary’s School. Current enrollment is 184 students in grades Preschool-6. There are two sections of each grade level and the student-teacher ratio is 13 to 1. A state of the art technology system is in place with classes taught by a technology teacher.
Highlights include: Weekly liturgy prepared by students, yearly gospel focus, programs for reconciliation and Eucharist, students from clustering parishes ( St. Patrick’s-Ryan, St. Joseph’s-Greeley), experienced staff plus certified instructor for music, band and physical education as well as a certified guidance counselor; age and curriculum appropriate field trips for each grade.
St. Mary’s activities which enhance the development of the whole child include: service projects (Recycling, Anointing Mass, Golden Age Center), Art Appreciation, Fine Arts Performances in winter and spring; band (grades 5 and 6), T.A.G. involvement, D.A.R.E., remedial reading and math services.
